Blog Part 2

Reflecting back on this semester, I am full of emotion. I am so excited to complete the masters program and begin teaching! I am very very ready! However, for the past 2 years, The University of Montana has been a constant part of my life and I have to say that it will be strange to not be checking my calender to see upcoming assignments. In addition, I lost my companion, Izabel, and continue to struggle without her tiny presence. It has been a life changing semester.

With respect to this class, I learned so much about how to incorporate aspects of technology into math lessons. Technology not only strengths students understanding of concepts, but also allows the teacher to multitask more effectively. Technology should be an extension of the teacher, not a replacement by any means. During this course, I worked with technologies I didn't even know were an option. For example, WebQuest. I had heard of it, but did not know how it could be used. Also, this course gave me the time to explore items that I didn't have time for, for example, Prezi. I had seen Prezi presentation, but never took the time to learn how to use the program. Now, I prefer it to PowerPoint. I now feel much more comfortable to use technology in my future classroom.
