Blog Part 2

Reflecting back on this semester, I am full of emotion. I am so excited to complete the masters program and begin teaching! I am very very ready! However, for the past 2 years, The University of Montana has been a constant part of my life and I have to say that it will be strange to not be checking my calender to see upcoming assignments. In addition, I lost my companion, Izabel, and continue to struggle without her tiny presence. It has been a life changing semester.

With respect to this class, I learned so much about how to incorporate aspects of technology into math lessons. Technology not only strengths students understanding of concepts, but also allows the teacher to multitask more effectively. Technology should be an extension of the teacher, not a replacement by any means. During this course, I worked with technologies I didn't even know were an option. For example, WebQuest. I had heard of it, but did not know how it could be used. Also, this course gave me the time to explore items that I didn't have time for, for example, Prezi. I had seen Prezi presentation, but never took the time to learn how to use the program. Now, I prefer it to PowerPoint. I now feel much more comfortable to use technology in my future classroom.

WebQuest. I don't know why this was so difficult for me...but this took FOREVER for me to complete. I gave up late last night (past the due date) to complete it today. I have to say that I am happy with the outcome and don't think it will take me anywhere near as long next time! I think this will be something I will really use in my future classroom!

Tech Project. I really love that Prezi is like PowerPoint with attitude!

Iz Tribute

Sorry this is VERY late. My little munchkin, Izabel, passed away over spring break. She was kinda a running theme for all my projects for this class, so I thought it would be appropriate to make one more project all about her. I miss her greatly, but here are some fun pictures I will cherish forever.

Hi all! My podcast is about being kind to animals. A topic near and dear to me. I figured that my pup, Izabel, seems to be a running theme on my blog, so she helped me with this. I couldn't figure out how to get some soothing music in the background....something to play with! Anyway, hope you enjoy :)

Week #1

Hi! My name is Danielle Iseli. I am taking this course from Palm Desert, California. I was fortunate enough to student teach here and fell in love with the place! This is my final semester before I receive my Master degree in Education with a Math endorsement. While student teaching last semester, I realized that I would like to learn a lot more about technology, especially the technology useful to a new teacher. I am working on improving my technology expertise level, but in my opinion I am definitely on the low side. I have a busy semester of classes, working and applying for jobs! I look forward to a successful final semester!
